A passport photo is not defined by its outer dimensions. It is defined by how
much of the frame your head fills and where your eyes sit. That is why a photo
can be exactly 413 × 531 pixels and still be refused.
MSRX PassportFast measures.
MEASURED, NOT JUST RESIZED
Face detection finds your chin and your eye line, and the top of your head is measured rather than estimated, so hair is not cropped off. The crop is then solved so your head lands inside the range your format publishes. You see the number it achieved, drawn against the rule, before you save anything.
A GUIDE THAT MEANS SOMETHING
Take the photo in the app and the outline you frame yourself in is drawn to your format's own head-height range. Live guidance tells you to move closer, further back, up, down, or to hold your head level. It turns green only when the photo it would produce actually meets the rule, rather than when a face is merely somewhere inside a circle.
THE SPEC SHEET
Your photo is shown the way an authority draws it: inside a dimensioned frame with a millimetre ruler, the tolerance band your crown must land in, and a bracket giving head height. Nothing on the drawing is decoration.
ACTUAL SIZE
Your phone knows its own pixel density, so the app can draw the photo at true physical size on the glass. Hold a ruler to the screen and check it yourself.
IT TELLS YOU WHEN IT CANNOT HELP
Some authorities refuse any edited photo. Germany no longer accepts a paper photo for a passport or ID card at all. Where that is true, the app says so before you spend any effort, closes the editing that would cost you the application, and shows the source and the date the rule was checked.
An app that only ever says yes is not checking anything.
PRINT AND SUBMIT
• Print sheets on 4×6, 5×7, A4 and US Letter, laid out in whichever orientation fits more photos
• Real gutters, with crop marks in the gutter rather than across your face
• PDF export at true physical size, so a print shop cannot rescale it
• Online-submission files sized to a portal's pixel and file-size limits
PRIVATE BY CONSTRUCTION
Every photo is processed on your device. Nothing is uploaded, there is no account, and no data is collected. The app works with no network at all.
FORMATS
Twelve formats, each drawn to its own rule. Every one names the authority its figures came from and the date they were read. Where an authority publishes a size but no head-height range, the app says so instead of inventing one — and where an authority takes the photograph itself, the app tells you no file it produces can be submitted.
Final acceptance of any photo is always the issuing authority's decision.
