When I tried to put my own Apple Health data to use, I hit a wall. Years of it sat on my iPhone, but my Mac couldn't reach it — and what was there was scattered, each app keeping to its own corner, none of it joined up enough to analyze. People want different things from their health data, but the first step is the same for everyone: getting it into files your own tools can read.

What HealthMirror does is simple. It keeps mirroring your own health data into plain-text files in your own iCloud Drive. New data follows on its own, usually within a day; often there by the next morning. The data travels inside your own Apple Account; the developer collects none of this health data.
What it does
• Read-only. It reads only the categories you authorize — sleep (with stages), steps, active energy, workouts, heart rate, resting heart rate, HRV, and body weight — and never writes or changes a single number in the Health app. Menstrual cycle is off by default; it asks for permission only after you turn it on yourself.
• One destination: your own iCloud Drive. Files land in your iPhone's iCloud and sync on to your Mac. The app's own code makes no outbound network requests — no developer server, no analytics, no ads, no tracking. The developer never receives, and cannot access, any of it.
• Plain-text JSONL — read it with Python, a spreadsheet, or an AI tool you've authorized yourself. Visible and deletable in iCloud anytime.
Who it's for
• People whose data has been piling up in Apple Health for years, who want to put it to use themselves.
• People who trust iCloud well enough to accept their own iCloud Drive as a way to get their data out.
• People who want a local AI assistant to read this data for them.
Zero management
Set it up once, and it keeps mirroring in the background. Nothing to check, nothing to press — it just keeps going until you want the files.
Optional: let your own AI read it
With the open-source MCP server (github.com/mlyxz/healthmirror-mcp, installed on your own Mac and run locally), a local AI assistant can query this data. The MCP server runs on your own Mac, and the assistant receives aggregated results rather than the raw data.
Before you start
• Requires iCloud Drive. To sync to a Mac, the Mac must be signed in to the same Apple Account.
• You don't need a Mac to start: your data goes into your iCloud Drive, and you can view it in the Files app on the iPhone itself.
• Uninstalling the app does not delete files already synced to iCloud; to remove them, use the Files app.
