SeaYou is a GPS navigation app built for recreational boaters who want full situational awareness on the water.

YOUR CHOICE OF CHARTS

Switch freely between four base maps: official Norwegian nautical charts (Kartverket), Swedish sea charts (Sjöfartsverket), high-resolution Sentinel-2 satellite imagery (EOX) and OpenFreeMap vector charts. Add the OpenSeaMap overlay for buoys, beacons and depth data from around the world.

LIVE GPS NAVIGATION

The map follows your vessel with smooth animation between GPS fixes. In heading-up mode the chart rotates with your course, and at higher speeds the boat shifts toward the bottom of the screen so you see more of the route ahead.

ROUTE PLANNING AND ETA

Build routes with waypoints directly on the chart. While navigating, the HUD displays your current speed, remaining distance and estimated time of arrival.

TRIP LOGGING

Start recording with one tap. When you arrive you can save or discard — saved trips are shown as tracks on the chart and can be reviewed in detail.

WAYPOINTS WITH PHOTOS

Mark positions on the chart and attach photos from your camera. Perfect for remembering marinas, fishing spots or places you want to return to.

SPEED GUIDE

Passing through restricted speed zones? The speed guide displays a visual gauge with a green tolerance band and gives clear warnings as you approach or exceed the limit.

CHART CACHING FOR WEAK SIGNAL

SeaYou caches chart tiles locally as you navigate. This reduces data traffic and can help recently viewed chart areas remain visible during periods of weak or intermittent mobile coverage.

FLEXIBLE UNITS

Choose between knots and km/h for speed, and nautical miles or kilometres for distance. All internal calculations remain canonical — you only change the display.

SeaYou is a personal hobby project under active development. The app requires an account to sync trips, waypoints and routes to the cloud.
