Measure Exit Velocity and Launch Angle for every hit - no radar gun, no extra equipment, just your phone.
BatApp turns any baseball or softball field into a measurement lab. Time the ball's flight, mark where it landed and get accurate hitting metrics instantly. Perfect for players tracking their progress, coaches running drills and parents who want real data without spending hundreds on radar equipment.
How it works
Open the map, pin home plate and you're ready. When the bat hits the ball, press and hold the timer button. Release it the moment the ball lands or is caught. Tap the landing spot on the map. BatApp does the rest: Exit Velocity and Launch Angle, calculated from physics, not guesswork.
Works for baseball and softball
The aerodynamic model is calibrated for a standard baseball but works for softball too. Exit velocity error for softball is under 1 mph for a 12" softball and under 0.5 mph for an 11" ball.
Accurate where it counts
The data model is accurate within ±2 mph and ±2° more than 80% of the time. Some conditions like wind or ball spin can cause deviations. A 0.2 s timing error translates to roughly 3 mph and 3° of error, and a 10 ft landing-spot error translates to about 3 mph and 1° on a typical 200 ft hit.
Pro tips
The best way to reduce distance error is to watch from the outfield where you can estimate the landing spot most accurately. The best way to reduce timing error? Work on your reaction time.
