MASCHINE is your project and development hub on the iPad. Organize knowledge, notes, sketches, assets, and code in shared workspaces—and connect your content directly to development environments on Mac, Linux, and Windows.

START PROJECTS DIRECTLY ON THE IPAD

The Project Assistant creates appropriate starting structures for:

• iOS, macOS, tvOS, and watchOS apps with SwiftUI

• Swift packages

• Python command-line programs and Python packages

The project name, bundle identifier, template, and target structure are checked before creation.

QUICKLY PROCESS FILES

With MASCHINE, you can process images, PDFs, text files, archives, property lists, audio, and 3D files directly on your iPad.

MASCHINE automatically displays the appropriate tools for each file type and preserves the original file unchanged.

Files can be imported from a workspace, an iPad project, or directly from your Mac.

BUILDING AND RUNNING APPLE APPS

In combination with the free MASCHINE Build Agent for macOS, you can create, build, and run Apple projects from your iPad. Select a scheme and a target device, then run your app on an iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, or Apple Watch simulator—or directly on macOS.

Launched apps can be displayed as interactive previews in the IDE and controlled from the iPad.

RUNTIMES AND REMOTE DESKTOP

Create and manage isolated Linux development environments on the connected Mac. Mirror a verified state of your workspace, open Terminal sessions, or control the runtime desktop.

Remote Desktop also allows you to access Mac screens and running apps. The display and frame rate automatically adjust to screen size, motion, performance, and device status.

USE ASSETS ACROSS DEVICES

Import images, videos, documents, and 3D files into your workspaces. During a local Remote Desktop session, selected files can be transferred directly from the Mac to MASCHINE.

Supported companion apps also allow you to transfer files between iPad and Windows devices.

KNOWLEDGE THAT STAYS WITH THE PROJECT

Create structured concepts, instructions, tutorials, references, architectural decisions, and workflows. Published documents appear in the global lexicon but remain linked to their original workspace.

The integrated MASCHINE manual explains the most important features directly within the app. The feed provides information about news and product updates from AVA INDUSTRIES.

LOCAL AND REMOTE

MASCHINE works directly with connected devices on the local network. Supported agent tasks can also be routed via the end-to-end-encrypted MASCHINE Relay. For Remote Desktop over the Internet, a direct, secure connection between the iPad and Mac is established whenever possible.

BASIC FUNCTIONS AND LICENSE

Workspaces, documentation, and basic organizational functions can be used directly on the iPad. Advanced features such as Mac Agent development, builds, runtimes, Remote Desktop, Relay, SFTP, and Windows file transfer require an active monthly subscription or a lifetime license after the three-day trial period.
